Hello everyone! I dropped off the face of the planet for a little while, but I haven’t disappeared completely. For the last month my dad has been visiting me here in Japan, so it’s been a little hard to keep up with this blog. Regular posts should resume next week or the week after, but I wanted to announce a few changes that I’m working on implementing. Read below for more info!

An important point of this sight is to promote hiking in Japan as a tourist activity, but of course any visitor needs to know where things are, so from here on out I’ll be including maps in my posts that include the trail as well as the locations of interesting sites along the way. Check out the example below.

Separating Diary and Informative Posts

When I started this blog, most of the posts were more like diary entries, but as I progressed I started including more and more information. From here on, I’m going to separate my stories from the informative posts.

Site Reorganization

I noticed that the organization of the site makes it a little difficult to find useful information about trails. I’m creating a dropdown menu on the headbar that separates informative posts categorically. It will be organized something like the following:

  • Kanto Fureai Trail
    • Tokyo Sections
      • Section 1: The Lake Path
      • Section 2: The Bird Path
    • Saitama Sections
  • Tokai Trail
    • Tokyo Sections
    • Kanagawa Sections
  • 100 Famous Mountains
    • #2: Raushi-dake

What do you think about these coming updates to the site? Be sure to leave a comment below and let me know! Happy new year!
